So, not only are strawberries sweet, juicy, and a natural tooth whitener, they also now have connections to better performance in bed? Wow. Talk about your super fruit!
I truthfully would have to say my only negative comment for strawberries is that I sometimes get one of their little seeds stuck in my back molar. And, I mean, let’s be serious here, trying to suck something out of your back molar isn’t attractive at all – so when I eat strawberries, I may lose a bit of that connection to a better sexual experience. But, hey, that’s just me.
The fact of the matter is, strawberries mostly get their aphrodisiac qualities from the colour they possess. This is particularly apparent in men…. in fact men have rated images of women on red backgrounds as more sexually attractive than on any other colour. (Men’s Health)
Similar to my last post about peaches; strawberries are naturally high in Vitamin C – a libido booster. They are also great for losing weight faster, building bigger muscles, and, hey, been known to help lasting longer in bed.
Strawberry Orange Granita
Makes a 9×11 Tupperware container
Measure out water and sugar into a saucepan – and place on stove to make a simple syrup.
Meanwhile, finely chop hulled strawberries in a food processor. When sugar has dissolved in water, add orange juice and zest. Pour into strawberry mixture a little at a time, mixing in between each addition. Taste.
When satisfied with flavour, pour into a large Tupperware (you don’t want it to be too thick of a layer, or else it won’t freeze). Cover and place in freezer.
About an hour later, pull it out of the freezer and using a fork, scrape it up. Place back in the freezer for at least 4-6 hour, preferable overnight.
To serve, use a large fork to scrape up the ice crystals and place into a bowl. Garnish with mint.
Granitas are a perfect alternative for people who don’t have that expensive ice cream maker sitting atop their kitchen counter. They are quick, easy, and painless (for your waist line, as well as your pocket). You can adjust the sugar content easily, without messing up to specific scientific compound needed to churn your ice cream. And, come on, they’re really, really good looking – the colour stays vibrant when no cream is added.
Happy Cooking, Friends!
